Yay, I am now 9 weeks pregnant!!! This week is filled with some big milestones. First let me show a picture of my belly.
There is still no baby bump (might be a few more weeks for that), but my waistline is definitely getting bigger. These white pants I wore today used to fall off if I didn't wear a belt. *I admit I bought these pants 2 sizes too big last summer hoping that I was pregnant.* Planning for the future isn't so bad is it? Anyway, these pants now fit me perfectly. Also, the 2 pairs of jeans I brought with me on this trip feel much more snug than usual. I am hoping this waistline growth is due to the baby's development and not just all the food I have been eating in Switzerland.
Also this week, the baby transitioned out of the embryonic stage into the fetal stage of growth. Baby's first graduation :) This means our baby looks much less like an alien with a tail and much more like a real human being. At this stage baby HandS is almost one inch in length which is about the size of a grape.
The most important milestone for this week is that we have our first ultrasound on Monday. I cannot wait! I hope baby HandS has found a comfortable place to call home for the next 7 months and is developmentally right on track.
Finally, we get to go home tomorrow to see Shaun! We have been missing him so much. And thank goodness Shaun was wrong.... I never did get nausea or morning sickness while on this trip. Maybe I can go this whole pregnancy without morning sickness. After all, that is how my mother's pregnancies were!
See everyone back in California.
