22 Weeks Pregnant

How Far Along?  22 weeks 3 days

How Big is Baby?  At 22 weeks he weighs one pound and is 8 inches long.  This happens to be the same size as a one pound box of sugar.  Go to the grocery store and see for yourself how big Neven is!  Neven can hear noises now and is listening to my heartbeat and stomach gurgles.  He can also distinguish between light and dark.

Physical Changes in Me:  I've gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks.  I now look pregnant to pretty much everyone I know.  I still haven't gotten a stranger asking if I'm pregnant, though.

How I'm Feeling:  I've hit the point where I'm starting to feel pregnant.  I'm getting some back pain, even though I'm trying to be very careful.  Working long shifts at the hospital is definitely not helping.  Even my doctor warned me that subsequent pregnancies result in ligaments being looser.... which translates to getting injured a lot easier.  This is so true with me.  I also have ligament pain in my inner thigh/groin area that I didn't have until I was 36 weeks with Aria.  I think I might have injured myself a few weeks ago when I was running in the the snow in Tahoe, and the pain hasn't gone away.  Unfortunately, I don't think it will until after Neven is here :(

Best Moment these Past 2 Weeks:  Feeling Neven tumble around in my belly.  He's graduated from the simple punches and kicks.  I can now feel full-on flip turns.  I can also see these flip turns from the outside.

Baby Purchases:  I bought a 12 pack of newborn prefold diapers, a pack of snappis, and a couple hemp diaper inserts.  These purchases almost round out my newborn diaper stash.  I am looking to buy a few more Happy Heinys minis, but I need to pull out my entire diaper stash before I buy any more.

This answers the question to people who've been asking me if we will be cloth diapering again....yes.  Cloth diapering a newborn is super, super easy.  Especially since I will be breastfeeding, and the diapers can be thrown directly into our washing machine without having to rinse them off.  Why are we cloth diapering, you ask?  Shaun might have a different answer, but here is mine:  It is a combination of feeling guilty that using disposables are horrible on the environment (since they essentially never biodegrade), it is a slight cost savings to use cloth, and cloth diapers are so much cuter!  I would like to cloth diaper Neven for much longer than we did with Aria, because toddler diapers are ridiculously expensive.  Also, I haven't noticed a difference in the number of blowouts between cloth vs. disposables.  Both have their off days.  Once I get my stash out, I will do a post on all the cloth diapers I have, in case anyone is interested.  Believe me, I've done a TON of research in the past couple years on the subject.
