18 Weeks Pregnant (minus one day)

How Far Along?  17 weeks 6 days

How Big is Baby?  Baby is the size of a sweet potato at 5.5 inches long and almost 7 ounces!

Physical Changes in Me:  I weighed 135 this morning, which gives me an overall gain of 9 pounds.  I should expect to gain one pound a week from here on out, which puts me at gaining approximately 31 pounds for the whole pregnancy.  We'll see how that goes!

I feel like my belly exploded over the past 2 weeks.  My friends and family are finally saying, "I see a bump!"  I've also started to wear maternity pants almost full-time.  The only pair of normal jeans that still fits me is a pair of low-rise stretchy jeans.  I haven't busted out my maternity shirts yet, but a few of my regular shirts are getting too short!  Just yesterday I was wearing a camisole underneath a sweater, and the camisole kept rising up such that my belly would hang out, lol.

How I'm Feeling:  For 4 days straight during week 16, I would ALL OF A SUDDEN get extremely hungry to the point of feeling like I would pass out, even though I just ate a couple hours before.  In one particular instance, I was in the car with Aria ready to go, and did not even feel safe to drive.  I couldn't even keep my head up without being really dizzy.  Luckily Aria had Cheerios in the car for me to scarf down, but then she got really upset that I ate all her Cheerios :(  

Best Moment these Past 2 Weeks:  Shaun feeling the baby move for the first time!  And in second place, me feeling the baby move throughout each day.  Puts a smile on my face every time :)

Baby Purchases:  I bought myself a recliner!  Not a glider from BRU (which is a major trend right now), but a full-on swiveling, rocking, recliner from La-Z-Boy!  I'm expecting to spend many nights sleeping in this recliner with the baby, so I wanted to get something super comfortable.  The first night I bought it, I already spent half the night sleeping soundly in it.  Shaun was even doing things around the house thinking he was waking me up, but I did not hear him one bit.  This was the #1 item I wanted to buy for myself before the new baby arrives.  I'm happy :)

On another note, awhile back Shaun and I bought our very first items for this baby.  Shaun found a J.J. Cole Bundle Me for really cheap, and I found a Bumbo seat with tray for really cheap (craigslist).  Other than these items, we are holding off on buying anything else until we find out the baby's gender on March 19th.
